* Money did not exist in Nahua societies but instead we had an extensive network trade system. As Nahuatl is an evolving language, the current speakers have words for objects in modern society.
Grammar Rule No.25
The following are subject prefixes that are used in conjunction with verbs as well as nouns:

Ni- = I
Ti- = you
Ti- = we
An- or Am- = you all (plural)

*note: The "i" in "ni" or "ti" is dropped when subject nouns begin with vowels (SEE NAHUATL SUPPLEMENT 1 OF YOUR CLASS NOTES)



Examples:


Conjunction with the verb NEMI (she, he, it lives)

Ninemi = I live
Tinemi = You live
Nemi = It/She/He lives
Tinemih = We live
Annemih = You all (plural) live
Nemih = They live

Conjunction with the verb CAH (she, he, it is)

NiCah = I am
TiCah = You are
Cah = It/She/He is
Ticateh = We are
Ancateh = You all (plural) are
Cateh = They are
